Big Hart Campground is located at the confluence of Big Creek and Hart Creek on the western end of beautiful J. Strom Thurmond Lake, the largest Corps of Engineers lake project east of the Mississippi River.
Twelve miles from Thomson, Georgia, and approximately 40 miles from Augusta, Georgia, this campground has 31 sites with water and 50 amp electric hook-ups, all spacious and shaded. The campground is adjacent to Big Hart Recreation Area, with a swimming beach, playground, and boat ramp. Big Hart features a group camp area with seven sites all with water and 50 amp electrical service and includes a large picnic shelter with 30 amp electrical service, water and a grill.
