Set in a wooded area near the Green River, Firefighters is surrounded by Ponderosa Pine, with other landscape typical of the high desert. Near the campground, an overlook contains the memorial to 3 firefighters who died in the Cart Creek Fire in 1977.
The area is known not only for its beautiful and startling red cliffs, but also its world class fishing. Lake, brown and rainbow trout fishing, boating, swimming and scuba diving are also available at the reservoir. River rafting on the Green is also spectacular, with the red cliff walls rising on both sides.
The dam at the reservoir offers guided tours every hour of the working hydroelectric plant and the history of the area. The Fenley Dinosaur Area is also a popular attraction for those interested in learning the history of the area.
The Bootleg Amphitheater is nearby with 120 bleacher seats and a screen support and naturalist presentations available.
