Located at 4,400 ft., the campground is bordered by the North Fork of the American River. Shaded by cedar, pine, and fir tees, the site is a pleasant escape from urban life. There's a great swimming hole at the end of the campground. Other activities include fishing, hunting, OHV travel, hiking, and wood cutting.

From Colfax, CA, take Hwy 80 east from 20 miles. Take the Emigrant Gap exit and travel south on Texas Hill Road for approximately 8 miles to campground. (Campground is about 28 miles west of Truckee.)
