On November 28, 1990, Congress created the Gila Box, one of only two RNCA's in the nation. Four perennial waterways - the Gila River, Bonita Creek, Eagle Creek, and San Francisco River - are the lifeblood of this remarkable place. Not only does the RNCA hold one of the most significant riparian zones in the southwest, it offers tremendous recreational opportunities. Owl Creek Campground has 7 camping unit spaces. Picnic tables, grills, ramadas, and restroom facilities are available to make your stay more enjoyable.
