Located adjacent to the beautiful Wild & Scenic Snake River, this remote cabin is part of the Hells Canyon National Register Historic District. The cabin offers many backcountry activities near the River and in the adjacent hills which are part of the Hells Canyon National Recreation Area. (elevation = 1000 feet) Facilities include; a single-story ranch house cabin which sleeps 10 people on bunk beds; Utilities are all propane operated -stove for heat; cook stove and lights. Tables/chairs and basic cooking utensils, outdoor detached toilet are also provided. Garbage service is not provided so please Pack-it Pack-it out. Potable water is not available so again please bring your own. The nearest services for telephone, gasoline, potable water and food is over 3 hour boat ride away. There is no cellular phone service in the Canyon. Operational information on how to use, clean and trouble- shoot any appliance problems at the cabin is provided on-site.

Driving directions to Dug Bar Trailhead (high-clearance vehicles are advised): From Enterprise, Oregon take Highway 82 to Joseph then take highway 350 to Imnaha; from Imnaha go north on County road 735 and follow signs to Dug Bar landing/trailhead. High-clearance vehicles are advised and the road is slow and winding in many locations from Imnaha down the Imnaha River. Powerboat directions from Lewiston/Clarkston: The Christmas Creek Ranch is located at mile point 210 on the Scenic Section of the Snake River. (The Wild & Scenic Snake River Boater's Guide - Hells Canyon National Recreation Area) Driving time to the Dug Bar Trailhead; from Portland - 12 hours; from Boise - 9 hours.
