How to get there from Lewiston, Idaho, Option #1 - Trail #649:
Travel east on U.S. Highway 12 to Kamiah Idaho (66 miles). Once you cross the bridge over the Clearwater River, you're about 2 and 1/2 hours from the cabin.
Make a sharp left onto Woodland Road. Stay on this road until you come to the second road to the right (Forest Road 100), then turn.
Travel about 22 miles to Lolo Campground. Continue on the road another 5 and 1/4 miles to the junction with Forest Road 103. Turn onto Road 103 and follow it for 15 miles to Beaver Dam Saddle.
At the junction, turn right onto Forest Road 104. Stay on this road for nearly one mile until you reach the junction with Forest Road 500, the Lolo Motorway.
Make a sharp left turn onto Road 500. Travel about 14 miles along this road to the intersection with Forest Road 560.
Travel about 1/2 mile on Road 560 to the junction with Trail 649. Hike, bike or ride your motorcycle approximately 3 miles on Trail 649 to the Liz Creek Cabin.
How to get there from Lewiston, Idaho, Option #2 Trail #20: Travel east on U.S. Highway 12 to Kamiah Idaho (66 miles). Once you cross the bridge over the Clearwater River, you're about 2 and half hours from the cabin.
Make a sharp left onto Woodland Road. Stay on this road until you come to the second road to the right (Forest Road 100), then turn.

At the junction, turn right onto Forest Road 104. Stay on this road for nearly one mile until you reach the junction with Forest Road 500, the Lolo Motorway.
Make a sharp left turn onto Road 500. Travel approximately 21 miles to the junction with Trail 20, which is located one mile south of 12 Mile Saddle. Please note that this is an exceptionally narrow, rough road! It can take as long as 3 to 3.5 hours to drive this distance. Full-size vehicles are not allowed on Trail 20. Persons wishing to access the Liz Creek Cabin must hike or ride an ATV, mountain bike or motorcycle for the first 7.8 miles of the trail. The final 1.5 miles are open only to hikers or mountain bike or motorcycle riders; the trail tread is too narrow to accommodate ATVs.
How to get there from Missoula, Montana:
Travel south on U.S. Highway 93 to Lolo, Montana.
Turn right and travel west on U.S. Highway 12 to Kamiah, Idaho (152 miles)
Before you cross the bridge over the Clearwater River, turn right onto Woodland Road. When you come to the second road to the right (Forest Road 100), turn.
