Carry down lake access only. - Tables, fire grates, water pumps, and outhouses provided. - Barrier-free fishing pier. The Sawbill Lake Campground is a Superior National Forest campground. Built on a hill above the lake, about a quarter of the sites offer a partial lake view. The entire campground is heavily wooded with white pines, red pines, spruce, balsam, birch and aspen. This is quiet campground with an emphasis on exploring the nearby wilderness, enjoying nature, and fishing. Located immediately adjacent to the campground, Sawbill Canoe Outfitters is the concessionaire operator and maintains a store with showers, laundry, fishing licenses, fishing bait and tackle, ice, grocery and convenience items, canoe and camping gear rental, and a pay telephone. Although, there are no water, sewer, or electrical hookups at the Sawbill Campground, it can easily accommodate large motor homes and trailers-- including fifth-wheelers. Trash and recycling facilities are located throughout the campground. There is a free sanitary dump station and a potable water hose available.
