Located 14 miles west of the town of Chester on Highway 36/89 (1.5 miles west of the Highway 32 turnoff), Gurnsey Creek Campground is nestled amid a beautiful mixed conifer forest. Vault toilets and limited parking are provided. Enjoy hiking, picnicking, and stream fishing. For campsite information please call the Almanor Ranger District at (530)258-2141. Reservations must be made at least 4 days in advance. If available, both "Rainbow" and "Trout" group sites may be reserved together (Sites 31-51) to form one large group site capable of accomodating 21 camping units. Golden Age/Access discounts do not apply to group sites. The "Trout" group site is suitable for up to 7 camping units. The "Rainbow" group site is suitable for up to 14 camping units.

From the town of Chester, follow Highway 36 West 14 miles. Gurnsey Creek Campground is located on the right side of the highway, 1.5 miles past the Highway 32 West turnoff. The Group Loop gate is located directly behind the campground fee station.
