This campground is located approximately 7 miles from Crested Butte, Colorado, adjacent to Lake Irwin. High in the Colorado Rockies, at an elevation of 10,200 feet, evenings are cool to cold, with days being cool with frequent afternoon showers. Most sites are shaded by mature Engleman spruce and subalpine fir trees. Restrooms are provided.

From Gunnison, take Colorado Hwy 135 north 28 miles to Crested Butte. Turn left on Gunnison County Road 12. Proceed 7 miles. Turn right on Forest Service Road 826 and follow signs to campground.
