Blackhawk campground is located at an elevation of 8000 feet, sitting just off the Nebo Loop, a National Scenic Byway with beautiful panoramic nature scenes and various wildlife. The area is forested with fir, aspen and gamble oak surrounding open grassy meadows.

The area is perfect for enjoying the surrounding area with nature and hiking trails, and the Payson Lakes Day-use area is just five miles away, stocked with trout for fishing. The campground also has a horse loop for equestrian campers

Directions (Google Directions):

From I-15, take exit 250 (North Payson/Salem) and proceed south on Main Street to 100 North / Hwy 198. Travel east to 600 East. Turn south onto 600 East (Peeteetneet Academy is on the corner). Travel south. 600 East becomes Nebo Scenic Loop/ Payson Canyon Road. Travel up the canyon to the campground.
