Warm River Campground is located nine miles northeast of Ashton, Idaho, along the slow-moving Warm River at an elevation of 5,200 feet. Willows line the riverbanks and pine trees offer partial shade. Tubing and fishing for brook trout, rainbow trout, cutthroat trout, and whitefish are popular activities on the river. Numerous hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding trails are in the immediate area, leading to natural springs, waterfalls, old railroad lines and tunnels, all with beautiful scenery.
This campground provides vault toilets, potable water, and garbage service, but no electricity. A campground host is on site, and firewood is available for purchase. One large group site is reservable and can accommodate up to 100 people. Several tent-only sites are reservable, as well as RV sites. Phone, gas and groceries are nine miles away in Ashton.
Island Park, with its lakes, rivers, streams, and trails is nearby, offering plentiful outdoor activities for everyone. Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks are within a couple hours drive as well, with outstanding scenery and wildlife. Events in the Warm River area include a bike race in June and the River Regatta in July.
