FOURMILE CABIN (MT)

The rustic Fourmile Cabin is located approximately 42 miles south of Big Timber, Montana, on the main Boulder River.

This 2-room cabin has electric power, electric stove, refrigerator, and a wood heating stove. The cabin is supplied with 4 single beds with mattresses, basic cooking and eating supplies, some cleaning supplies, table and chairs, axe, bucket, and shovel. There is an outdoor vault toilet.

Bring drinking water or treat water out of the creek or river.

Winter access by cross-country skis or snowshoes up to 11 miles on county road.

Livestock must be kept at the adjacent trailhead parking area. Supplemental livestock feed must be certified noxious weed seed free.

Altitude of the cabin is 6,186 feet.

Reservations can be made up to 6 months in advance. Maximum length of stay is 7 nights. Cabin rent is $35 per night

This cabin is located approximately 42 miles south of Big Timber, Montana, on the main Boulder River. From Big Timber, travel 25 miles south on Highway 298 to the National Forest Boundary. At this point the paved road becomes county-maintained gravel road. Continue on this gravel road another 17 miles. The cabin is on the west (right) side of the road across from the Fourmile Trailhead parking area. The Forest Service sign at the entrance to the cabin reads Fourmile Ranger Station.
