CUMMINGS CABIN (MT)

Cummings Cabin is a historic mining cabin, representative of the old mining cabins that dotted the countryside in the greater Lincoln area around 1910. The cabin has been determined eligible for inclusion to the National Register of Historic Places.

Cummings Cabin is located 8.5 miles from Lincoln, Montana. The area around the cabin provides for a multitude of things to do and see. A number of hiking trails, including the Continental Divide Nation Scenic Trail and the Scapegoat Wilderness Backcountry Trail System lay within close proximity to the cabin. Nearby trout streams offer good fishing opportunities. The cabin also offers winter recreation opportunities with cross-country ski trails out the back door and nearby access to over 200 miles of groomed snowmobile trails.

To access the cabin, travel 8.5 miles east of Lincoln on State Highway 200, where a National Forest Access sign for Hogum Creek is located at the junction of Hwy 200 and Hogum Creek Road. Turn south onto Hogum Creek Road and follow it for approximately .8 miles to the junction with Black Diamond Rodad. Follow the middle fork at the junction for 1 mile, where you will reach the driveway to the cabin. The driveway is on the left, just before a private cabin. Follow the driveway for approximately .2 miles where the cabin is located.

During times of snowfall the road is generally plowed from Hwy 200 to the cabin driveway, however be prepared to walk, ski, or snowshoe in the event that it is not plowed. The cabin driveway is not plowed.
