The Women's Museum: An Institute for the Future opened to the public in September 2000. This museum is the legacy project of the Foundation for Women's Resources, headquartered in Austin, Texas. The Women's Museum: An Institute for the Future is located in Fair Park in Dallas and is devoted to providing a public forum for the celebration and communication of women's contributions to society. It focuses on American women, with particular attention to the 20th century.The Women's Museum: An Institute for the Future makes visible the unique, textured, and diverse stories of America?s women. Exhibits feature women?s accomplishments and highlight the importance of all women to society. Thousands of stories recount public and private triumphs and the struggles of those who would be denied their freedoms in all its forms: political, social, and spiritual.The Women?s Museum is also the nation?s educational center for women and girls. The Ronya Kozmetsky Institute for the Future offers hands-on educational programming in a 21st Century learning environment. By encouraging and reinforcing abilities, dreams, and potential, young people and adults acquire the resources and competencies to become productive workers, responsible citizens, and successful individuals. Fast-paced, specialized programs educate in areas including women?s history, life issues, and math, science, and computer literacy.

DRIVING DIRECTIONS TO THE WOMEN'S MUSEUM

By DART:

The Women's Museum is accessible by bus by taking routes 11, 12, 26, 29, 50, 60, 409 & 445. From Fort Worth you can take the Trinity Railway express to Union Station, and transfer to one of the bus routes listed.

From North of Downtown Dallas:

Take I-75 South to I-30 East. Take I-30 East to exit 48A (Haskell/Peak). Exit onto Haskell Avenue, turn left and continue straight ahead to the Parry Ave traffic signal. Cross over Parry Ave and immediately enter into Gate 2 to your right. Follow signage to The Women's Museum. Loading dock is located on the east side of the building.

From South of Downtown Dallas:

Take I-45 North to I-75 North. Take I-75 North to I-30 East. Or Take I-35E North to I-30 East. Take I-30 East to exit 48A (Haskell/Peak) Exit onto Haskell Avenue, turn left and continue straight ahead to the Parry Ave traffic signal. Cross over Parry Ave and immediately enter into Gate 2 to your right. Follow signage to The Women's Museum. Loading dock is located on the east side of the building.

From West of downtown Dallas:

Take I-30 East to exit 48A (Haskell/Peak). Exit onto Haskell Avenue, turn left and continue straight ahead to the Parry Ave traffic signal. Cross over Parry Ave and immediately enter into Gate 2 to your right. Follow signage to The Women's Museum. Loading dock is located on the east side of the building.

From East of downtown Dallas:

Take I-30 East to exit 48A (Haskell/Peak). Exit onto Haskell Avenue, turn left and continue straight ahead to the Parry Ave traffic signal. Cross over Parry Ave and immediately enter into Gate 2 to your right. Follow signage to The Women's Museum. Loading dock is located on the east side of the building.

From Parry Avenue:

The Women's Museum will be on your right. Follow the signs that read Women’s Museum Parking and turn right into Fair Park through the entrance immediately behind the building. Parking is available on the side and behind the museum. Enter in the museum at the front of the building. Loading dock is located on the east side of the building.

From DFW International Airport:

Take the North exit out of the Airport to Hwy 144 South-East (John W. Carpenter Freeway). Follow as the road goes into Hwy 183 East (John W. Carpenter Freeway). Follow as the road goes into I 35 E South (Stemmons Freeway). Take I-35E South to I-30 East. Take exit 48A (Haskell/Peak). Exit onto Haskell Avenue, turn left and continue straight ahead to the Parry Ave traffic signal. Cross over Parry Ave and immediately enter into Gate 2 to your right. Follow signage to The Women's Museum. Loading dock is located on the east side of the building.

Leaving the Museum

After your visit, you will exit through the gates and turn right onto Parry. Cross the railroad tracks and continue to the stop light at Peak Avenue. Here you will see directional signs for I-30 and I-45. Turn left at Peak and follow the signs.
